America's Dependence on Foreign Oil

$200,000 per minute. $13 Million per hour. & More than $25 Billion per year go to Persain Imports alone.
"With U.S. gasoline consumption accounting for 11 percent of world oil production, the U.S. has been hit hard by our dependence on oil, intensifying our economic and political vulnerability. "
My opinion about this topic is that if people keep complaining about our oil and gas prices then they should find other ways to get around. Which some people have. I believe in carpulling. =] It saves gas and money. But it is also easier so that you wouldnt have to take 2 or 3 cars to go to work or to school.
A myth I have heard about breaking this habbit is pushing for alternative fuels instead of foreign oils will break our addiction. But the new energy costs requires that the country produce 36 billion gallons of biofuels per year by 2022. We cannot gradually introduce biofuels instead of foreign oils.
I strongly believe that we should push for alternative fuels. It seems smarter and more sufficent. I think that they should make more alternative fuel cars. Which I know they have made a few but come on.. who can afford them? From what I have heard, most of them are way out of price range for an average person.
